Welcome to Kindergarten and Arbor Station Elementary!  My name is Mackenzie Harris, and I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this year. I look forward to building a strong relationship with each child and his or her family. I believe that a family is a child’s first teacher, and I invite you to continue to actively participate in your child’s education now that they have begun their journey.

Throughout the year there will be many opportunities for me to get to know each student and their family. As we embark on this great partnership, I also want you to know about me too. This is my first-year teaching at Arbor Station Elementary; and my tenth-year teaching Kindergarten.  I previously taught at a Charter school in Fulton County which I had the privilege of joining that Charter School in 2013, as a Paraprofessional and worked at Baltimore City Public school system for 6 years as a Para-Educator. I grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands, moved to Miami, FL, to begin my initial studies at Johnson and Wales University where I obtained an Associates degree in Business Administration, then moved to Tampa, FL, where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, later attended Grand Canyon University where I obtained a Master’s degree in Early Childhood education. I graduated in May of 2021, from the University of West Alabama with an Education Specialist degree in Early Childhood.
